ARMS Train Show

WVOL At ARMS Show

WVOL Presenters returned to the Appalachian Model Train Show in November. The annual Huntington show draws hundreds of model train fans each year. The three day event has several model train layouts and many vendors to supply modelers needs.

Pineville Fall Festival

WVOL Visits Pineville Fall Festival

West Virginia Operation Lifesaver again participated in the Pineville Fall Festival. The event hosted over 1,000 children and hundreds of adults. WVOL Presenters who worked the booth were Courtney Jackson, Lakin Woosley, Brittany Justus, Julie Adkins, Mark Woosley and John Perry.

NS-WVOL Train

Norfolk Southern Operation Lifesaver Train

The Norfolk Southern Operation Lifesaver Train came to West Virginia on September 30. The train traveled from Charleston to a point near Pt Pleasant and returned. Along with government officials, dignitaries and press were several police officers, one of which was in the locomotive. Officers were also on the ground at most crossings citing drivers who failed to stop for the train. Officers were from the West Virginia State Police, Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Mason County Sheriff's Department, Charleston City Police Department, Dunbar Police Department, Nitro Police Department and Norfolk Southern Police. Several fire department chiefs were also on board.

NS Mechanical Department Family Day

NS Mechanical Department Family Day

The Norfolk Southern Mechanical Department invited West Virginia Operation Lifesaver to be a part of their Family Day celebration. Wayne Sexton and John Perry attended the event with the WVOL Mobile Education Unit. Many people enjoyed the simulator during the day.
